Specialist downhole tool provider Peak Well Services ("Peak") has appointed Nigel Avern as Chief Executive.
Nigel joins Peak after an extremely successful career spanning 17 years with the Expro Group where he managed various divisions of the global business, notably as Region Director for Asia and President of South America. Latterly he was an Executive Officer responsible for product lines and Managing Director for the company's Connectors & Measurements business.
Fresh into his new role, Nigel Avern commented: "Peak has a strong brand within the industry and a reputation for innovation and excellence in the design and manufacture of downhole products. I am delighted to be joining the company at such an exciting time when industry forecasts look positive and we have an expanding portfolio of exceptional products to showcase to our clients."
Kim Gardiner, non-executive Chairman of Peak added: "Nigel is a highly accomplished leader with a proven track record of growing business profitability in new markets and new regions within the industry. Nigel will be instrumental in positioning Peak for the next upturn in the Oil and Gas industry, and supporting its continuing global growth strategy."
Nigel will initially be based between the company's two main offices, in the UK (Aberdeen) and Australia (Perth). He will also sit on the company's Board of Directors, further strengthening the Board together with the appointment of Stuart Ferguson earlier in the year. Stuart had been an Executive Officer of Weatherford International Ltd since 2002.
