Specialist downhole tool provider, Peak Well Systems (“Peak”), has undertaken a major investment programme valued in excess of US$1m, aimed at further strengthening its manufacturing capabilities that deliver well intervention and downhole systems to the global oil and gas marketplace. The investment will increase output capacity to meet the growing customer demand for Peak products.
The investment includes the refurbishment of the company’s workshop and assembly facilities in Perth (Western Australia), to create lean workflows, all aimed at increasing output capacity and further improving customer delivery. As part of this process, Peak has installed additional new state-of-the-art CNC machines that combine live tooling for Peak products that require milling and turning under one operation. These new machines greatly enhance Peak’s capability of manufacturing products to the highest quality and within the shortest timeframes. Peak’s Perth facilities currently supply products to customers worldwide, supported by maintenance facilities in Aberdeen when required.
Alongside the increased efficiencies and capabilities, Peak has also created a number of new positions in its Engineering Design and Quality Control departments in Perth, and has added to its field specialist teams that provides technical support from Peak’s offices in Perth (WA), Aberdeen (UK) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Peak Well Systems now employs over 50 people worldwide.
Nigel Avern, Chief Executive of Peak Well Systems, commented: “Although primarily focused on our Perth (WA) facilities, this investment will have a very positive impact on our other regional offices and, more importantly, for our global customers. It represents a major commitment to enhance product quality, worldwide delivery and customer service, and also provides Peak with a sound platform for future growth over the next few years.”
“We believe that Peak already provides customers with superior technologies that offer the best performance, outperforming all competition. However, the fast moving nature of this industry and, in particular, the well intervention technology sector, means that we have to continue to invest in order to meet the increasing demand for Peak products.”
